Medical cannabis strains available in Poland: full list and how to read it

Eighty-five strains from sixteen manufacturers, gathered in one table. Without THC percentages and without price per gram, with an explanation of why these numbers are not here.

This page is a list of cannabis strains available today in Polish pharmacies, not a ranking. The choice of strain is up to the attending physician, so the list indicates what exists and what cannot be inferred from this data.

The state of the list as of 05.09.2026. Presence in the list does not mean availability in your pharmacy.

How many medical cannabis strains are available today in Poland?

There are currently eighty-five cannabis strains in Polish pharmacies, supplied by sixteen manufacturers in one hundred forty-one pharmacy positions. Therefore, one strain can be available in several versions at once, differing by manufacturer, declared content of active substances, and source of raw material.

This number is not fixed and should not be treated as a permanent state. Permits for marketing authorization expire, deliveries are delayed, and new positions appear without notice. A strain present in the list one month can disappear the next, only to return six months later under a different manufacturer.

It is worth distinguishing two things that merge into one in discussions about availability. The presence of a strain in the list means that someone is importing or producing it in Poland. It does not mean that your pharmacy carries it. The pharmacy orders what it orders and is not obliged to keep the entire assortment, so real availability can be narrower than the list below. We explain why this number changes so often in a separate post about the availability of strains in Poland.

Are you looking for this strain under a different name?

Four strains from the list function under two names at once. The medicinal product designation is the trade name of the responsible entity and does not have to correspond to the name of the breeding line under which the strain is known. If you are looking for one from the left column, the entry is listed under the name on the right.

Which strains are available today in Polish pharmacies?

The list includes all strains along with the manufacturers supplying them and the terpene described in sources as leading. The order is alphabetical, not ranking, and the strain name leads to its description.

Three-quarters of the list consists of strains from one manufacturer: 64 positions out of 85. For the patient, this means that with most names there are no alternative suppliers, so a supply interruption means a lack of the strain, not another version of it.

Six names in the entire list mean that the leading terpene narrows the selection to at most a dozen items. It does not replace the rest of the profile, and it is precisely in it that the sources diverge the most.

Producers’ portfolios differ not only in size. The column with exclusive strains indicates how many items will disappear from pharmacies if this one entity halts supply.

What the producer column says

The producer column says more than it seems at first glance. A strain supplied by four producers is more readily available but also more diverse: four versions of the same name can differ in declared active substance content and the country of origin of the raw material. A strain from one producer is predictable in this regard, but it disappears from the market along with its supply.

What the leading terpene says

The leading terpene column requires one caveat. It comes from a comparison of two independent sources describing profile compositions, and these sources agree less often than one might expect: among the twenty-four strains described by both, the composition agrees in three cases and differs in twenty-one. The agreement usually concerns the leading terpene, while the tail of the profile varies. Where the sources diverge, we state this directly in the strain description instead of choosing the more convenient version.

What is not in this table

There is no declared content of active substances or price per gram, as both change faster than the list can be updated, and both would suggest a precision that they do not have. We provide the content as a range in the description of a specific strain, and the price is provided by the pharmacy fulfilling the prescription.

Why are there no THC percentages or price per gram in this table?

You will not find a list of strains with THC percentages or prices per gram here, and this is a decision, not an oversight. Both of these numbers seem to be the most useful information in the entire list, yet they are the least reliable for two completely different reasons.

The declared content of active substances is subject to a tolerance of up to ten percent of the value, so an entry described by one number actually encompasses a range. Moreover, the same strain from four producers has four different declarations. A single number in the table would suggest a precision that does not exist, which is why we provide the content as a range, and only in the description of a specific strain, where it can be explained where this range comes from.

With the price, the situation is even simpler. The previous version of this page provided dozens of prices that could not be confirmed or kept up to date. Prices in pharmacies vary between locations, change with the exchange rate and supply, and licenses expire faster than the table can be updated. A list with outdated prices is worse than a list without prices because it looks current. Ask the pharmacy that fulfills your prescription for the price, as it knows its current offer.

How to read the strain profile to avoid being misled?

The strain description usually consists of three layers that can easily be confused: data from the producer, user reports, and marketing material copied from breeding services. Only the first of these layers refers to a specific batch of raw material that can actually be purchased at the pharmacy with a prescription.

The names of terpenes appearing in descriptions are sometimes provided along with percentage shares. We consciously do not repeat them, and the reason is measured, not stylistic. Three compilations of the same items summed the shares and came up with three different totals, none of which reach completeness. Since the sums do not close, each counts relative to something else, and none provides that something. A number without a denominator in a text about a drug looks like a measurement, but it is not.

Similarly with the pedigree. It may be documented on the breeder’s side, and then we provide the source, but for twenty-five strains on this list, it was not possible to establish it, and that is how it was recorded. The pedigree does not indicate what you will get at the pharmacy: that is determined by the batch and its testing. We elaborate on this in detail in the entry about reading the strain profile.

What determines the potency of a strain and is it worth following it?

Potency is often treated as the only criterion for selection, and this is the most common mistake when first encountering therapy. The declared content of active substances indicates how much of them is in the raw material, but it does not say how much will reach the body or how it will affect a specific person.

The route of administration primarily influences the effect, as the same strain can produce two different outcomes depending on it.

Vaporization When swallowed
First symptoms after a few minutes from half an hour to even two
Effect wears off after two, at most four hours after six, sometimes eight hours

The second component is the patient themselves: body mass, previous exposure, and the time of the last meal change the outcome more than the difference of a few percentage points between two entries. Therefore, choosing a strain based on the highest declared value rarely leads to where the patient intended, and the parameters of administration are determined by the attending physician. We expand on this in a separate text about what determines potency, and in the comparison of criteria for selecting a strain.

What is the difference between a strain and a chemotype, and does the division into indica and sativa mean anything?

Indica / sativa division Chemotype
What it describes appearance of the plant and naming tradition composition of the raw material
Coverage in data weak; the same strain may be classified differently by two sources direct, as it refers to composition, not appearance
Limitation two strains described by the same word can have completely different compositions describes the raw material in several broad classes, so two items with the same chemotype can still differ enough for the patient to notice

A separate source of misunderstandings are names that function like entire categories. The words Haze, Afghani, or OG Kush recur among many breeders and many producers, each time describing a different plant. Therefore, a common part of the name is not enough as proof of kinship: the parent must be indicated independently by two companies, with two different offspring. We discuss taxonomy and chemotypes more broadly in the entry about strains and properties of cannabis.

Where to look for information about prescriptions, refunds, and transport across borders?

Not on this page, and this is a conscious decision. This page is a list of strains and that is what it deals with. The procedure for obtaining a prescription, teleconsultation, the validity period of the prescription, and the rules for transporting raw material across borders have their own entry, maintained and updated completely separately from this list.

Separating these two topics benefits both. The list of strains changes with supplies and permits, while the rules for issuing prescriptions change with regulations, meaning at a completely different pace. Keeping them on one page caused them to become outdated mutually: an amendment to one topic forced a review of the other, and a reader looking for one thing had to sift through the other. Separation also means that each of these texts answers a different question and can do so completely, instead of cutting off halfway to make room for the other topic.

Everything about the procedure can be found in the entry about how the process of obtaining a prescription for medical marijuana looks. Here remains one sentence that must be stated regardless of why you came: cannabis flower is a pharmaceutical raw material issued only by a doctor’s prescription in the Rpw category, and no item from the table above is available without a prescription.

Frequently asked questions about medical marijuana strains

How many strains are available in Polish pharmacies?

Eighty-five strains in one hundred forty-one pharmacy items, from sixteen producers. The number changes with supplies and permits, so treat it as a state as of today, not as a permanent value.

Why don’t you provide the price per gram?

Prices vary between pharmacies and change faster than the table can be updated. A list with outdated prices is worse than a list without prices, as it looks current. Ask for the price at the pharmacy filling the prescription.

Why are there no THC percentages for the strains?

Because the declared value is subject to a tolerance of up to ten percent, and the same strain from four producers has four different declarations. We provide the content as a range in the description of a specific strain.

Is the pharmacy obliged to carry all strains from the list?

No. The pharmacy orders what it will, so actual availability may be narrower than the list. It is worth providing the producer’s name when placing an order, rather than relying on selection by the strain name alone.

Does the division into indica and sativa say anything about the effect?

Not much. It is a commercial category with weak coverage in chemical data. Two strains described by the same word can have completely different compositions, and the same strain may be classified oppositely by two sources.

Where do the data about the leading terpene come from?

From a comparison of two independent sources describing profile compositions. They usually agree on the leading terpene, but diverge in the further part of the profile, and where they diverge, we state this directly.

Can these strains be purchased without a prescription?

No. Cannabis flower is a pharmaceutical raw material issued only by a doctor’s prescription in the Rpw category. No item from the table above is available without a prescription.

We update the list with every change in pharmacy items, and the state above is from 05.09.2026. Cannabis flower is a pharmaceutical raw material in the Rpw category, issued only by a doctor’s prescription, and the choice of strain is determined by the attending physician.
