These three studies have a boundary written more broadly. In humans, it has not been shown that myrcene alleviates insomnia at doses typical for inhalation of flower. The direction of the effect in rodents depends on the route of administration and sex: after intraperitoneal injection in 2002, a slightly anxiogenic effect was described, while after inhalation in 2024, an anxiolytic effect was observed in females.
