Mac 1 (Cantourage and Four 20 Pharma): lineage from Alien Cookies F2 and Miracle

Mac 1 is a selected phenotype of the cross of Alien Cookies F2 with the Miracle plant, supplied to Polish pharmacies by two suppliers. We gather what has been documented about it and separately what has not been shown for it.

What is Mac 1 and where does this strain come from?

Mac 1 is a selected phenotype of the Miracle Alien Cookies strain, which was created by crossing Alien Cookies F2 with a plant called Miracle. The selection was made in 2015 by a breeder using the pseudonym Capulator, and the one in the name indicates the number of the selected phenotype, not the content of the active substance. The lineage is therefore documented on both sides.

In this comparison, this is not the rule. Of the eighty-five described cultivars, twenty-five do not have an established origin because the breeder did not disclose it or the available descriptions contradict each other. Mac 1 does not belong to this group and both parents can be named.

There is no agreement on classification, however. One source describes this strain simply as a hybrid, while another as a hybrid with indica dominance, and the difference does not arise from measurement but from a convention organizing the catalog. The division into indica and sativa refers to the plant’s growth structure, not to the chemical composition of the dried product in the jar, so for the reader of the label, it carries less than the ingredient profile.

THC content declarations differ between the pharmacy positions of this strain. After adding the ten percent tolerance allowed for the value provided by the producer, the published declarations fall within the range of 19.8-27.5%. A single number from the label is therefore the midpoint of the range, not a measurement result obtained on that batch of dried product, and that is why we provide a range instead of a number.

Which producers supply Mac 1 to Polish pharmacies?

Two. The strain is marketed in Poland as hemp flower from Cantourage and from Four 20 Pharma. Each supplier is responsible for its own batches and its own quality documentation, so under one trade name, there are two independently released raw materials, not one product in two packages.

Supplier Form in Pharmacy How the version differs
Cantourage hemp flower, category Rpw own production series; content declaration provided for the series, not for the strain name
Four 20 Pharma hemp flower, category Rpw separate documentation and individual analysis certificate for each batch

The table lists what can be verified in the documentation, and nothing more. Publicly available materials from both suppliers do not allow us to say how the versions differ in perception or how they differ in composition, as neither publishes a complete analysis certificate assigned to the strain name. A fair comparison of two jars would require two certificates from the same period.

The composition of the supplier list changes more often than the strain itself. Whether a given position is available today is determined by a single delivery, withdrawal of a series, or change of import agreement, not by what is growing in the greenhouse. For this reason, the page describing the strain is not suitable as a source of knowledge about availability: the current list is in the summary of strains available in Polish pharmacies, and the assortment of dried flower is a separate list.

What does Mac 1 smell and taste like?

Descriptions converge on citrus acidity with a sweet, vanilla background and earthy sharpness at the end. However, all come from user reports and sales materials, not from organoleptic testing conducted according to protocol. The smell also depends on the batch and how long the flower has been stored before opening.

The citrus part of the aroma is usually attributed to limonene, the same component around which the section on evidence is built below. The resinous note is attributed to pinene, floral to linalool, and peppery to caryophyllene, while farnesene is described as green apple with a slight sweetness. These attributions are general and do not come from measurements made on this strain.

The practical consequence is that the nose predicts nothing. Terpenes are sensed at concentrations orders of magnitude lower than those at which anything has been shown in studies, so a pronounced citrus smell does not mean that there is a lot of that component in the flower, nor that it results in anything for the person consuming the raw material. The aroma describes the batch, is strongest right after opening the package, and weakens with each passing week of storage.

Between the two pharmacy versions of this strain, the difference can be perceptible, although no one measures it. The flower from two independent batches differs in harvest time, drying method, and time spent in storage, and each of these things changes the smell more than the name on the label. Comparing two packages makes sense only if both samples come from a similar period.

How long does it take for Mac 1 to take effect and how long does the effect last?

This depends on the route of administration, not on which strain it is. Mac 1 is dispensed in pharmacies as flower, so in practice, it concerns two situations: inhaling vapor from a vaporizer or taking the raw material orally. The difference between them is several times and concerns both the onset and the duration of the episode.

The route of administration determines the course more than the strain itself, and the ranges below describe just that, not this cultivar, as pharmacokinetic studies for a single cultivar have not been published.

Vaporization After Swallowing
First Sensations after a few minutes from half an hour to two
Onset another ten to thirty minutes slow, over several hours
Total Duration within two to four hours after six, sometimes eight hours
Typical Mistake none taking a dose after thirty minutes, which gives both doses at once

For Mac 1 itself, this does not change anything that could be counted separately. The declared content of the active substance affects the strength of the sensation at the same dose, but does not shorten or lengthen the course, as it is determined by the absorption method. The form matters: the same flower inhaled and the same flower swallowed give two different courses, so experience from one route of administration does not transfer to the other.

What is known and what is not known about the effects of Mac 1?

No study has been published on this strain. Only individual components of its profile can be described, and even that on animal models and isolated substances. Everything else circulating under the name Mac 1 is user reports or materials prepared by the seller. Distinguishing these two orders is more important here than summing them up.

The composition of this strain is described by one source, and that is how we present it here. It lists five components: farnesene, caryophyllene, limonene, linalool, and pinene. The order adopted in this source puts farnesene at the forefront, while in this comparison, the strain is led by limonene, and it is limonene that the works referenced below concern. Both findings cannot be reconciled without new measurement.

We do not transcribe percentage shares next to the names of the components, and this is not excessive caution. The total shares provided by public compilations for the same items are 46, 73, and 83 percent, each counting them against a different basis. A number pulled from such a table looks like a measurement, but is a fraction with an unknown denominator.

Studies have been conducted on limonene that can be pointed out by name.

Study Model and Route of Administration What Was Shown
do Vale TG et al., 2002
Phytomedicine
PMID:12587690
rodent (mouse, intraperitoneal administration) Limonene administered intraperitoneally in mice showed muscle relaxant effects (rota-rod test) from a dose of 50 mg/kg and prolonged sleep induced by pentobarbital at a dose of 200 mg/kg (approx. 2.6 times); in the elevated plus maze test, already at a dose of 5 mg/kg, it reduced the number of entries into the open arms, which the authors described as an anxiogenic effect, not anxiolytic.
Fakhri S et al., 2025
Behavioural Pharmacology
PMID:40622197
rodent (rat and mouse) Limonene reduced paw swelling induced by carrageenan in rats and pain responses in the formalin test in mice; the effect was linked to the l-arginine/nitric oxide/cGMP/KATP channel pathway and involvement of opioid and benzodiazepine receptors.

No anxiolytic effect of limonene has been demonstrated in humans. It has also not been shown that isolated limonene has anxiolytic effects in animals; the only available data from the elevated plus maze test showed the opposite effect, reducing the number of entries into the open arms even at a low dose.

Both studies were conducted on rodents, on isolated substance and via intraperitoneal administration, so they say nothing about the flower inhaled by humans.

What side effects have been reported after using Mac 1?

Separately for this strain, none. Reports go to the registry under the name of the medicinal product and batch number, not under the name of the plant, so there is no compilation from which one could read how many events were attributed to this position. This applies equally to both pharmacy versions of Mac 1.

Reports of side effects are collected for the medicinal product with a batch number, not for the strain name, so the following concerns hemp flower as a group of raw materials. The most commonly reported are dry mouth, red eyes, and increased heart rate. Less frequently described are dizziness upon rapid standing, daytime drowsiness, and transient worsening of short-term memory, as well as anxiety increasing with dosage. A separate issue is medications taken concurrently, especially sedatives and those affecting coagulation: their assessment requires knowledge of the entire list of preparations, not the description of the plant. We do not provide the frequency of these symptoms numerically, as public compilations for hemp flower in Poland do not separate them by individual products.

Since the strain is supplied by two suppliers, any report is still divided into two separate paths: the description from the packaging issued in the pharmacy along with the batch number counts. Without this data, observations cannot be assigned to anything.

How to vaporize Mac 1?

The setting is chosen based on what is to evaporate, not on the strain name. The components of this strain’s profile vaporize in different orders: first the volatile monoterpenes, then the heavier sesquiterpenes, and lastly the active substance itself. One temperature does not extract the entire profile at once, only a portion of it.

In the profile of Mac 1, limonene and pinene belong to the first group, while farnesene and caryophyllene belong to the second. A low setting gives more citrus aroma and less of everything else, while a high setting does the opposite, while also consuming the portion faster. We do not provide specific thresholds for this strain, as no one has measured how much of each component vaporizes at what temperature from this flower; what evaporates at what temperature is described in a separate text about vaporization of terpenes.

Two things are worth separating before reaching for a ready temperature table. First, published boiling temperature compilations do not agree with each other, and comparing them directly leads nowhere, as discussed in the text about discrepancies between tables. Second, the number displayed by the device describes the heating element, not the flower lying in the chamber, and these two values do not have to be equal.

The composition of the vapor is also influenced by how the chamber is filled, which the tables are silent about. Tightly packed flower allows less air to pass through and, at the same setting, gives something different than loosely spread flower, and convection devices differ in this regard from conduction ones to the extent that an indication from one does not transfer to the other. The portion is measured by weight, as it determines the consumption of the raw material.

Which strains are related to Mac 1?

None of the strains described in this comparison. The lineage of Mac 1 is known, but neither Alien Cookies F2 nor Miracle has any other offspring in this comparison besides itself, and the pedigree graph does not assign it any siblings. An empty list is thus a result, not a lack of data to fill in.

Siblings are created in this graph only when two strains share the same identified parent. A common landrace or a broad family style, such as afghani or haze, is not enough, as these are categories, not individual plants. Both parents of Mac 1 can be named, but outside its own lineage, they do not appear anywhere in this comparison.

Similarity in name does not replace kinship, and this is the most common mistake when reading such lists. The term kush carries ten cultivars in this cluster, half of which have no established origin at all, and two strains sharing one word can have no common parent. Similarly, the number in the name refers to the selected phenotype: other phenotypes of the same cross are not siblings of Mac 1, but another selection from the same pool.

An empty sibling column does not place this strain completely separately in the catalog. Common profile components link it to positions with which it has no genetic connection, and it is along this line, not along the lineage, that comparisons between strains are made. Which strains are available alongside it is shown in the list of strains in Polish pharmacies.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Mac 1 strain

Is Mac 1 the same as Miracle Alien Cookies?

Not exactly. Miracle Alien Cookies is the name of the entire cross of Alien Cookies F2 with the Miracle plant, while Mac 1 is one selected phenotype from it. The other phenotypes of the same cross have different numbers and are different plant material.

How many suppliers does Mac 1 have in Polish pharmacies?

Two: Cantourage and Four 20 Pharma. Each is responsible for its own batches and its own quality documentation, so the same name encompasses two independently released raw materials. The composition of the supplier list changes over time, and the current state must be read from the summary of strains.

What THC content is declared for Mac 1?

Declarations differ between the pharmacy positions of this strain, and after adding the ten percent tolerance of the producer, they fall within the range of 19.8-27.5%. A single number from the label is the midpoint of the range, not a measurement result obtained on this package.

Which terpene leads in the Mac 1 profile?

It depends on what you read. The only source describing the composition of this strain places farnesene at the top, while in this comparison, the strain is led by limonene, and it is limonene that the works referenced here concern. This cannot be resolved without new measurement.

Do studies confirm the anxiolytic effect of Mac 1?

No. No study has been conducted on this strain, and the available works concern isolated limonene administered intraperitoneally to rodents. In the only anxiety test conducted for it, the opposite effect was observed compared to anxiolytic.

Does Mac 1 have related strains in Polish pharmacies?

No. The lineage is established, but neither parent has any other offspring in this comparison, so the sibling list remains empty. With a known lineage, this is a correct result, not missing data.

Can Mac 1 be purchased without a prescription?

No. Hemp flower is a pharmaceutical raw material dispensed only by a doctor’s prescription in category Rpw, and the pharmacy records each dispensing. Outside of this route, the strain is not available in any form.

This text is for informational purposes only and does not replace medical consultation. Hemp flower is a pharmaceutical raw material dispensed by a doctor’s prescription in category Rpw, and the choice of strain, form, and dosage is determined by the attending physician.
