Tilray in Polish Pharmacies: Fourteen Strains from the Portuguese Facility and Two Products Named Sirius

Under the Tilray label, there are fourteen strains and eighteen positions available in Polish pharmacies, with Tilray Portugal listed as the manufacturer. The same trade name Sirius appears twice in the list, under two different companies.

Manufacturer Card Tilray
Strains in the list 14
Pharmaceutical Positions 54
Exclusive Strains 1 (no one else supplies them)
Medical Brand the same as the manufacturer
Leading Terpene in the Portfolio nerolidol in 4 out of 14
Strains without Established Pedigree 5
  • Scale. 14 strains in the list, in 54 pharmaceutical positions.
  • What you won’t buy elsewhere. 1 of them is supplied exclusively by this manufacturer, so a break in their supply means no availability of these strains, not another version of them.
  • Portfolio Profile. Leads with nerolidol, in 4 out of 14 strains, alongside caryophyllene, myrcene, pinene.
  • What is missing. For 5 out of 14 strains, the pedigree remains unestablished and we do not assign it based on name similarity.

Who is Tilray and where does the raw material for Polish pharmacies come from?

Tilray is a company founded in Canada in 2013, now part of the publicly traded Tilray Brands group in the United States. However, the raw material sold in Polish pharmacies under this label comes from Europe: the pharmaceutical base lists Tilray Portugal as the manufacturer, a company operating a facility in Cantanhede.

The path from the Canadian startup to today’s group involved an acquisition. In December 2020, Aphria conducted a reverse takeover of Tilray, and the combined entity continues to operate under the name Tilray Brands, headquartered in New York. The company’s materials mention cultivation and production in Canada, Germany, and Portugal, and good manufacturing practice certificates are attributed to the facilities in Nanaimo and Cantanhede. For the Polish patient, only the latter matters, as its name appears in the description of the pharmaceutical position.

The presence in the Polish market has a date. In August 2022, the company announced that the Ministry of Health allowed its dried flower for pharmaceutical circulation alongside a previous wholesale permit, and announced cooperation with several pharmaceutical partners for both branded and unbranded products. What we have not established: when the first packages actually appeared on pharmacy shelves and which entity is listed in the Polish register as responsible for these positions. We did not open the register at the source, so we will not make such a statement here.

Which Tilray strains are available in Polish pharmacies?

Fourteen. The list of pharmaceutical positions associated with this cluster includes fourteen strains and eighteen separate positions, as four names appear in two declared potency variants. This is the second result among sixteen manufacturers in the ranking, after S-LAB with thirty-eight strains.

Strain Leading Terpene Pedigree Who else supplies it
Beach Crasher caryophyllene established S-LAB, Synoptis Pharma
Blueberry myrcene established S-LAB
Cataract Kush myrcene established S-LAB, Synoptis Pharma
Frosted Cherry Cookies myrcene established S-LAB, Synoptis Pharma
Galaxy Walker OG nerolidol established S-LAB, Synoptis Pharma
Headband nerolidol unestablished S-LAB
Island Sweet Skunk pinene unestablished S-LAB, Synoptis Pharma
Jack Herer myrcene established S-LAB
Lilac Diesel terpinolene established S-LAB, Synoptis Pharma
Master Kush caryophyllene unestablished S-LAB, Synoptis Pharma
Pink Kush nerolidol unestablished Aurora, Polfarmex, S-LAB, Synoptis Pharma
Purps caryophyllene unestablished S-LAB, Synoptis Pharma
Rockstar nerolidol established S-LAB
Tilray Sirius caryophyllene established only this manufacturer

The leading terpene is evenly distributed among these fourteen: myrcene, caryophyllene, and nerolidol lead with four names each, while pinene and terpinolene have one each. The assignment comes from the pharmaceutical list and indicates which note the list editor considered primary. It is not the result of sample analysis and does not refer to any specific batch.

Four names appear twice in the list, in two declared potency variants: Cataract Kush, Island Sweet Skunk, Lilac Diesel, and Pink Kush. This is where the difference between fourteen strains and eighteen positions comes from. For the reader, this has one practical consequence: two positions with the same strain name are not the same entry on the prescription.

Thirteen of these fourteen names also appear in the list under the S-LAB label, nine under Synoptis Pharma, and Pink Kush has a total of five, as Aurora and Polfarmex are also included. Only Tilray Sirius appears in the list under one label. The assortment changes from delivery to delivery and is not a feature of the strain, so we keep the current state in one place, in a comprehensive overview of available strains. Dried cannabis sold without a prescription is a different category of goods than pharmaceutical raw material and is found in the store in the dried category.

Is the same raw material sold in pharmacies under several labels?

Probably yes, although we cannot confirm this with documentation. The base from which we take the pharmaceutical composition states directly for the Blueberry position that the same facility produces the dried flower sold under the S-LAB brand, and refers to both labels as having a common origin. However, they remain formally separate pharmaceutical raw materials.

A second source states the same from the S-LAB product side: it is released to the Polish market by an entity of that name, while produced in Portugal by Tilray Portugal. An industry portal reported in October 2023 about three trade names for one raw material, adding to the previous two positions those sold by Polfarmex. None of these statements come from the register or from a batch release document, so we treat them as industry reports rather than established facts.

On the pharmacy counter, however, the difference is firm. A service for pharmacists responded in July 2023 that a prescription issued for S-LAB dried flower entitles the dispensing of S-LAB dried flower, and a prescription for Tilray entitles the dispensing of Tilray, despite identical declared content, because we are talking about separate raw materials from separate entities, and the possibility of substitution is not provided here. Therefore, the number sixteen in this cluster is the number of names appearing on labels, not the number of facilities where the material is grown. How many of the latter there are is not clear from the available records.

Why does the name Sirius appear twice in this list?

Because there are two separate positions under that name in the pharmaceutical list: one with the Tilray label, the other with the S-LAB label. The project treats them as two different cultivars, and each receives its own entry. They only share the word in the name and the assigned leading terpene in the list, which is caryophyllene.

The distinction is not accidental. Our breakdown of labels removes the part of the name that is the manufacturer’s name, so the position described in the list as Tilray Blueberry ends up in the list simply as Blueberry. Tilray Sirius stands on a clear list of exceptions, where the word coinciding with the manufacturer’s name is part of the strain name itself, just like with Aurora Indica. The list is maintained manually and is intentionally incomplete, as such a case cannot be resolved from the label alone.

The material for both positions is different. The Tilray position has recorded parents in the pedigree graph: chemdawg and alien tech, while sources describe the name Sirius as a trade designation for a strain previously known as Alien Dawg. The S-LAB position has no established pedigree. Each also carries its own potency declaration, and merging them under one key has already given one of them a false range, glued together from the declarations of two different companies. Separate entries describe the Tilray position and the S-LAB position. The identity of the plant material between them is not confirmed or excluded by any of the collected records.

How does Tilray’s raw material differ from that of other manufacturers?

The most visible difference is the name of the position. In the registered name of Tilray’s dried flower, there is no strain name: the pharmaceutical base shows only the name Cannabis flos Tilray with declared content numbers. For some other entities, the strain name appears directly in the position name, as with Synoptis Pharma’s dried flower.

For the patient, this is not a mere editorial detail. From the name on the prescription and the packaging, it is impossible to tell which strain the bag contains. An industry portal wrote in 2023 that the strain is recognized by the letters in the batch number, which we did not verify on the packaging. However, the form is consistently stated: dried flower in a ziplock bag weighing fifteen grams.

The rest of the differences break down into fact and marketing material. The manufacturer is verifiable in the pharmaceutical base, and we are talking about pharmaceutical raw material dispensed by a doctor’s prescription, not a finished drug. The company’s communications mention a good manufacturing practice certificate for the facility in Portugal and deliveries to the EU from the Portuguese and German facilities, but these are its own statements repeated by industry media, not a document we opened. Descriptions like the first certified cannabis company or international giant describe the market position and say nothing about the quality of a single batch.

What is known, and what is not known about this manufacturer’s raw material?

It is known where the raw material is produced and in what form it is dispensed. It is not known what a single batch contains: for none of the fourteen strains did we find a publicly available certificate of analysis, and the descriptions of terpene profiles come from Polish consumer services, not from the entity producing the raw material.

The state of these descriptions can be counted. Two services from which the cluster takes profiles describe a total of seven out of fourteen strains, and the composition matches only for one of them; for the other six, they provide differing sets. The remaining seven strains have a description in one service. The declared genetics diverge between sources for seven names, and the pedigree cannot be established for five. None of these numbers describe Tilray’s raw material: they describe the strain names under which this raw material is sometimes sold.

Separately stands what is a report. Descriptions of smell, potency, and time of day circulating on store blogs and patient forums are not documentation; they arise from individual experiences and lack a protocol that could be repeated. The declared content of active substances is also a declaration with a margin, not a measurement of a specific bag. None of this is a charge against the manufacturer: this is how data availability looks across this entire market, not just for one label.

What adverse effects have been reported from this manufacturer’s raw material?

None that could be attributed specifically to this label. Public compilations of reports are not broken down by individual manufacturers in Poland, so there simply is no list of symptoms for the Tilray positions. Below is a description referring to the entire group of this raw material, not to one label.

Reports of adverse effects are collected for a medicinal product with a batch number, not for a strain name, so the following pertains to cannabis flower as a group of raw materials. The most commonly reported symptoms are dry mouth, red eyes, and increased heart rate. Less frequently described are dizziness upon standing up quickly, daytime drowsiness, and temporary worsening of short-term memory, as well as anxiety that increases with dosage. A separate issue is medications taken concurrently, especially sedatives and those affecting coagulation: their assessment requires knowledge of the entire list of preparations, not just a description of the plant. We do not provide the frequency of these symptoms numerically, as public compilations for cannabis flower in Poland do not separate them by individual products.

The practical conclusion is one: a report has value when it carries the batch number from the packaging, as it identifies the batch, not the strain name or the label text. Discussions about symptoms should be held with the attending physician or pharmacist, not with a strain description found online.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who produces the dried flower sold in Poland under the Tilray label?

The pharmaceutical bases list Tilray Portugal as the manufacturer for these positions, a company operating a facility in Cantanhede, Portugal. The Tilray Brands group has Canadian roots and is headquartered in the United States, but the raw material for Polish pharmacies comes from Europe.

How many Tilray strains are available in Polish pharmacies?

Fourteen strains and eighteen separate positions, as four names appear in two declared potency variants. This is the second result among sixteen manufacturers in this ranking. The assortment changes from delivery to delivery, so the current state is checked in the comprehensive overview of strains.

Is Tilray dried flower the same as S-LAB dried flower?

Industry services state that both come from the same facility in Portugal, but they are registered as separate pharmaceutical raw materials. We did not open a document confirming the identity of the plant material, so the question remains unresolved.

Can a pharmacist dispense Tilray dried flower instead of S-LAB?

No. A service for pharmacists responded in 2023 that a prescription issued for one dried flower entitles the dispensing of that specific dried flower, despite identical declared content, because cannabis flowers are pharmaceutical raw materials, not finished drugs, and substitution is not provided here.

How does Sirius differ from Tilray Sirius?

These are two separate pharmaceutical positions from different companies, treated in this overview as two cultivars. The Tilray position has a recorded pedigree, while the S-LAB position has no established origin. They share only the word in the name and the assigned leading terpene in the list.

Does Synoptis Pharma sell dried flower from Tilray?

An industry portal reported in 2025 that Synoptis Pharma from the Neuca group registered two products together with Tilray and is involved in the distribution of products under this brand. However, in the pharmaceutical base, Synoptis Pharma positions have their own manufacturer listed.

Does Tilray publish certificates of analysis for Polish positions?

We did not find publicly available certificates of analysis for positions sold in Polish pharmacies. This does not mean that tests are not conducted at all; it means that patients do not have public access to their results.

Dried cannabis is a pharmaceutical raw material dispensed by a doctor’s prescription in the Rpw category. The material is informational in nature and does not replace consultation with the attending physician or pharmacist.
