In humans, it has not been shown that myrcene alone alleviates insomnia at doses typical for inhalation of dried cannabis. At what temperature does dried cannabis with a predominance of myrcene vaporize?

Public chemical databases report a boiling point for beta-myrcene around 166-167 °C at atmospheric pressure, but the conditions in the chamber of the device are different, and the display shows a reading from the heating element.

The boiling point indicates when a pure compound transitions to vapor at atmospheric pressure, not when it leaves the plant matrix. In dried cannabis, the same terpene is embedded in the matrix along with other components, is released gradually even below its boiling point, and decreases during the session. Hence the tables assigning single values to terpenes can contradict each other when several are compared side by side.
