The discrepancy concerns four names: humulen, limonen, mircen, and ocymen are only present in the broader description. At low vaporizer settings, the most volatile substances vaporize first, so the first draws can be sharper and more resinous, while later ones are heavier. Pharmacokinetic studies regarding inhalation place the onset in the range of 1-10 minutes, maximum plasma concentration around the tenth minute, and the dissipation of the perceived effect after 2-4 hours from stopping the device.

The sensation builds up only after 30-90 minutes, with the maximum often noted between the first and third hour, and the total lasting 4-8 hours, longer for some individuals. What side effects have been reported from this strain?

There are no separate reports for this strain. Safety monitoring is conducted for the raw material and for the active substance, not for the trade name of the flower, so there is no compilation indicating how often a specific symptom occurs after Island Sweet Skunk. How to vaporize this strain?

The setting is chosen according to what is to be vaporized. Pinen, leading in this profile, boils according to the PubChem database at 156.2 degrees Celsius at atmospheric pressure, which is the lowest of all eleven terpenes gathered in this project. Terpinolen boils at 184, kariofilen only at 257.5 degrees.

However, the boiling point is not the vaporizer setting. The number from the chemical database indicates when the pure substance transitions to vapor at atmospheric pressure, while in the device’s chamber lies the crushed flower, hot on the heating side and cooler in the middle of the portion. The display reading describes the heater, not the flower.

Comparing such numbers with each other also has limits. Among the eleven terpenes of this project, the public database provides boiling points with pressure for only six; for nerolidol, there is a number without pressure, and for bisabolol, there is none at all. A table arranged from such records compares values that were not measured under the same conditions.

The practical conclusion is modest. Lower settings release the most volatile substances first, while higher ones reach for the remaining components and a larger portion of the active substance, at the cost of a sharper inhale. The choice belongs to the patient and the attending physician, not to the text describing the strain, as it depends on the dose and tolerance.
