In the Cosmetics section, we have gathered hemp and plant cosmetics for the face, body, and hair, massage preparations, intimate hygiene products, and toothpaste. The most products come from the Czech brand Palacio, followed by Cannaderm and Medicprogress. Below, we describe how the section is organized, how the forms differ, and what to check on the label.

How the section is organized

Each subcategory collects one group of products:

• Creams: face, hand, foot, and body creams
• Face cosmetics and Serum: face creams and light serums
• Body cosmetics: bath salts, butters, balms, ointments, and pastes
• For massage and Gels: cooling and warming gels, massage oil, and in Gels also shower gels and bath foams
• Hair cosmetics: shampoos, conditioners, and masks
• Intimate and massage: emulsion and cream for intimate areas
• Hygiene and home: liquid and toilet soaps and EcoCannabis cleaning agents
• Toothpaste: toothpaste

Hemp seed oil vs CBD

In hemp cosmetics, you will encounter two different raw materials. Hemp seed oil, in INCI Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil, is a fatty ingredient.

CBD, in the list Cannabidiol, is given in milligrams per entire package, for example, 500 mg in warming and cooling massage gels or 125 mg in CBD Medicprogress ointments 125 ml. Cannabidiol is also listed in INCI as gel CéBéDé Fortis. There are also cosmetics without hemp in the composition, such as Palacio Cream with argan oil and Aloe Vera Skin Cream.

On the skin or to rinse off

Creams, serums, and massage gels remain on the skin, so their composition works the longest. Palacio Vitamin Serum with hemp 50 ml is applied in the morning and evening on cleansed skin of the face, neck, and décolletage, while Palacio face creams come in 50 ml packaging.

Shampoos, shower gels, and hair masks are rinsed off. Therefore, Medicprogress uses water-soluble hemp oil esters in shower gel, intended for cleansing cosmetics, while Palacio mask is kept on the hair for 10 minutes and then rinsed off.

Coolness, warmth, and scent

Massage preparations differ in sensation. Coolness is provided by menthol and camphor, often with denatured alcohol, which evaporates quickly, while warmth comes from capsaicin or chili pepper extract. Palacio Cannasex oil 150 ml combines liquid paraffin with hemp, almond, and grape seed oils, as well as olive oil, providing a long glide.

Preparations with menthol, camphor, or chili should not be applied to mucous membranes, around the eyes, or on damaged skin, and hands should be washed after massage. The fragrance composition is revealed by the entry Parfum, and allergens such as limonene, linalool, or coumarin are listed by name at the end of the list.

Hemp cosmetics: what to check on the label

First, the purpose and area: face, body, hair, massage, or intimate areas. Then the order in the INCI list, which usually corresponds to decreasing content, although there are exceptions: CBD Chill gel has a list arranged alphabetically. In Palacio argan cream, liquid paraffin is in second place, while argan oil is in the second half of the list.

What is the difference between hemp oil and CBD in cosmetics?

Hemp seed oil is a fatty ingredient, listed in the INCI as Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil. CBD is cannabidiol, given in milligrams per package, for example, 500 mg in warming massage gel. These are two different ingredients, and one cannot be converted to the other.

Are all cosmetics in the section hemp-based?

No. Palacio Cream with argan oil, Aloe Vera Skin Cream, Pro Intim cream, and Palacio shower gel with argan oil do not contain hemp raw materials in the list. You can recognize hemp cosmetics by the presence of hemp seed oil or extract or CBD listed in the composition.

Which cosmetic to choose for massage?

For a short massage of a selected body part, a gel in a 200 ml tube is convenient, as it dries quickly. For back or leg massages, a gel in a 600 ml bottle or Cannasex oil with a long glide is suitable. You can find the full selection in the categories For massage and Gels.

Are preparations with menthol suitable for children?

Not always. Gel CéBéDé Fortis is not intended for children under 3 years old, and warming ointment Kombinat Konopny is for children under 6 years old. For each massage preparation, check the age restriction on the label. Preparations with menthol, camphor, or chili should also not be applied to mucous membranes, around the eyes, or on damaged skin.

How long can a cosmetic be used after opening?

As long as indicated by the symbol for the period of validity after opening, counted from the first unscrewing. You can find the symbol on the packaging, next to age restrictions. For Palacio Hemp Hair Balm, the manufacturer indicates 6 months. Store cosmetics closed, at room temperature, away from sunlight and heat sources.
