Solve Labs mushrooms: how extracts are made

Mushrooms in powders and capsules are a 10:1 extract from fruiting bodies. It is produced through double extraction: first with hot water, then with alcohol. This ensures that both water-soluble and alcohol-soluble compounds remain in the extract.

The mushrooms for the extracts are grown on wood, and their species is confirmed by DNA testing. The extracts are laboratory tested, and the powders and capsules with single mushrooms are suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

Powder, capsules, or drops

Mushroom Powder is most commonly available in three packages: 30 g, 50 g, and 100 g. A serving is 500 mg, which is one scoop, up to three times a day. You mix the powder with coffee, tea, or a smoothie and drink it immediately after preparation.

The capsules contain the same 10:1 extract, with 60 pieces in a package. A serving is two capsules, which is 1000 mg of extract, so the package lasts for 30 days. This is a good form if you do not want to measure anything.

The drops come in a 60 ml Miron glass bottle, which protects the extract from UV radiation. Lion’s Mane, cordyceps, and chaga are in a concentration of 15:1, while reishi is 20:1, and a serving is 2 ml. The Lion’s Mane bottle contains an extract from 90,000 mg of fruiting bodies.

How to use and store

Stick to the serving size on the label and do not exceed it during the day. Dietary supplements do not replace a varied diet or a healthy lifestyle. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the manufacturer does not recommend using extracts, such as Lion’s Mane powder.

Store the packages in a dry and cool place, out of reach of small children. Mix the powder with a drink just before drinking. If you are taking medications, talk to your doctor before using mushroom extracts. We discuss mushrooms and adaptogens in daily supplementation in our biohacking guide.

Frequently asked questions

What does 10:1 extract mean?

This designation refers to the ratio of raw material to finished extract: one part of extract corresponds to ten parts of fruiting bodies. Solve Labs uses this ratio in powders and capsules, while in drops, higher concentrations of 15:1 or 20:1 are used. It is produced through double extraction: with hot water, and then with alcohol.

What are the differences between powder, capsules, and drops?

Are Solve Labs products vegan?
