bio-canna tea is a line of loose infusions made from hemp seed from BioCanna in Sieradz. It includes seven blends: NATURAL made from flowers and leaves of hemp and six variants where hemp leaves combine with herbs and dried fruits. Each blend is available in 20 g and 50 g packaging.

What is bio-canna tea

BioCanna is a company from Sieradz that sells oils, gummies, and teas made from hemp seed. The raw material comes from organic, certified farms, and the products are tested in independent laboratories. The infusions in this line are also known as Dr Joint.

The teas are dietary supplements intended for adults. The herb is loose, without bags, so you measure the portion with a teaspoon.

Seven blends

The blends differ in composition and flavor. All except for NATURAL are based on hemp seed leaves:

• NATURAL: flowers and leaves of hemp seed, without any additives
• WARMTH: hemp leaves, raspberry, and hibiscus
• Citrus & Ginkgo: hemp leaves, ginkgo biloba, orange peel, and hibiscus
• Forest Fruits: hemp leaves, rose hip, black currant, cranberry, blueberries, elderberry, and rowan
• Smoothie: hemp leaves, apple with banana puree, banana, strawberry, chamomile, and ashwagandha
• Strawberry & Lemon Balm + L-theanine: hemp leaves, lemon balm, rose hip, dried strawberry, and L-theanine
• Blend with Hawthorn and Rose Hip: twelve ingredients, including hawthorn, rose hip, rowan, barberry, beetroot, and sloe

Strawberry & Lemon Balm + L-theanine is the only one with a quantitatively described ingredient: 32 mg of L-theanine per 2 g serving.

There is no sugar in any ingredient list, and the sweetness of the Smoothie blend comes from the fruits. Forest Fruits and Citrus & Ginkgo also do not have added flavors, and the manufacturer declares the composition of the Forest Fruits blend as 100% plant-based.

How to brew

For a cup, one teaspoon, which is about 2 g of herb, is enough. Pour it with water at a temperature of 80-85°C, not boiling, cover, and brew for four to six minutes. From a 20 g package, you get about ten cups.

How to choose a blend

If you like a pure, grassy-herbal taste, choose NATURAL. Sour infusions are provided by Citrus & Ginkgo with a citrus note and raspberry WARMTH, while the dark and tart Forest Fruits and the blend with hawthorn and rose hip. Smoothie tastes sweet and fruity, closer to a cocktail than tea.

Frequently asked questions

Do bio-canna teas contain caffeine?

There is no coffee, tea leaves, or guarana in the ingredient lists. The manufacturer describes the Citrus & Ginkgo blend directly as a caffeine-free infusion. The teas are dietary supplements for adults, and the loose herb is measured with one teaspoon, which is about 2 g per cup.

How much herb should I use for a cup?

One teaspoon, which is about 2 g. The same portion and brewing method are provided by the manufacturer for all blends and both package sizes. The herb with pieces of fruit, like in the Forest Fruits blend, is coarse, so a teaspoon holds less than it seems.

How does NATURAL differ from flavored blends?

By the raw material. NATURAL is made from flowers and leaves of hemp without additives, while flavored blends are based solely on leaves, to which herbs and fruits are added. The taste of NATURAL is therefore grassy and herbal, without fruity acidity. The other six blends combine hemp leaves with herbs and dried fruits.

Which blend contains L-theanine?

Only Strawberry & Lemon Balm + L-theanine, in the amount of 32 mg per 2 g serving. It is the only blend with a quantitatively described ingredient. Alongside L-theanine, the composition includes lemon balm, rose hip, and dried strawberry. A 2 g serving is one teaspoon of loose herb, which you pour with water at a temperature of 80-85°C.
