RAW is a brand of rolling papers and rolling accessories. Under this name, there are papers in booklets and rolls, ready-made cones, filters, rolling trays, and storage containers. In Europe, the brand is distributed by HBI Europe GmbH.
What RAW is known for
The brand’s distinguishing features primarily concern the paper. According to the manufacturer, RAW papers:
- are made from unbleached plant fibers,
- are produced without chlorine and without GMOs,
- are vegan,
- have a distinctive Criss-Cross watermark,
- are glued with natural acacia gum, sustainably sourced from the regions of Ethiopia and Senegal.
The manufacturer attributes these features to all of its papers, not just one selected line.
In the descriptions of the papers, the same glue often appears as gum arabic. These are two names for one plant substance, so do not look for a difference between them.
Hemp papers in a roll
The RAW Organic Hemp line consists of papers made from natural hemp fiber. The paper is not bleached, which is why the Organic Hemp roll has a brown color. In the roll version, the paper is enclosed in a cardboard box, from which you tear off a strip of any length. The 1¼ size roll is 5 meters long and 44 mm wide, while the Kingsize Wide roll is 3 meters long.
RAW in the store
RAW appears in the store among rolling papers, including in the hemp line Organic Hemp in a roll.
How to choose RAW papers
- A booklet is a paper of a fixed size, so each roll comes out to a similar length.
- A roll gives you freedom: you measure the length yourself, so from one package you can make a shorter or longer roll.
- In RAW rolls, you choose between size 1¼ (5 meters) and Kingsize Wide (3 meters).
- All RAW papers are, according to the manufacturer, made from unbleached plant fibers. If you want paper made from hemp, look for the Organic Hemp designation.
- The Organic Hemp roll is just paper, so if you roll with a filter, you choose the filters separately.
You can find RAW papers and other brands in the Papers category, and filters in the Filters category. We compare sizes and materials of papers in the guide How to choose papers, and the differences between papers, wraps, and ready-made cones in the text Papers, wraps or cones.
