OCB

OCB is a brand of rolling papers with French roots, now belonging to the Republic Brands group (Republic Technologies). In addition to rolling papers, the brand offers filters for joints and pre-rolled cones.

History and Name

The history of OCB begins in 1822 when brothers René and Guillaume Bolloré built a paper mill on the Odet River in France. The OCB brand itself was established in 1918. Its name comes from three elements of this history: the Odet River, the Cascadec paper mill, and the Bolloré family.

Today, the company operates a facility in Perpignan, France. According to the brand, it is carbon-neutral and powered by renewable energy.

Bamboo Line

OCB Bamboo papers are made from bamboo paper. The brand describes them as follows:

• 100% bamboo paper from sustainably grown fibers,
• no dyes, no chlorine, and no GMOs,
• vegan, glued with natural acacia gum,
• paper weight 14 g/m².

In the Slim + Tips version, one booklet contains 32 King Size Slim papers, which are 44 × 109 mm in size, and 32 cardboard filters. Slim in the name indicates a narrow paper, and Tips refers to the filters. Therefore, there is one filter for each paper.

How to Choose OCB Papers

• Paper weight refers to the mass of one square meter of paper. The lower the number, the lighter the paper.
• King Size Slim is a long and narrow paper: 109 mm in length and 44 mm in width.
• A booklet with filters included is sufficient if you roll with a filter and do not want to buy filters separately.
• If you prefer paper without dyes and chlorine, the Bamboo line meets both conditions according to the brand’s description.
• The glue is natural acacia gum, also referred to as gum arabic in the descriptions of the papers.
