Palacio CBD Chill - cooling massage gel 200 ml
Chill is the cooling version of the Palacio hemp massage gel, in a 200 ml tube. The sensation is provided by the classic trio: menthol, peppermint oil, and camphor, complemented by denatured alcohol, which makes the gel evaporate quickly and the coolness appears almost immediately after application. The plant base consists of oil and extract from hemp seeds and cannabidiol, alongside seven herbal extracts common to the entire line - from birch, yarrow, horsetail, nettle, rosemary, sage, and lime. The list of ingredients is published alphabetically, so the order on the list reflects the alphabet, and the proportion of individual raw materials is left to the manufacturer. The consistency is gel-like and the layer dries quickly, so you can put on your clothes immediately after the massage. It is also worth remembering one more item from the list: limonene, which the manufacturer mentions as a fragrance allergen. The 200 ml tube is designed for regular use, not for a one-time trial.
Ingredients
The INCI list for the cooling variant, arranged alphabetically as published by the product card:
- Aqua and Alcohol Denat. - gel base and carrier of volatile coolness
- Menthol, Mentha Piperita Oil, Camphor - cooling composition
- Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil and Cannabis Sativa Seed Extract - hemp seeds
- Cannabidiol - listed in the list without a specified amount
- Achillea Millefolium, Betula Alba, Equisetum Arvense, Urtica Dioica, Rosmarinus Officinalis, Salvia Officinalis, Tilia Platyphyllos - seven herbal extracts
- Glycerin, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Triethylene Glycol, Sodium Chloride
- Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate - preservation
- Limonene - fragrance allergen from oils
- CI 42051 - dye
Cooling in cosmetics has two mechanisms, and both work simultaneously here. The first is evaporation: denatured alcohol evaporates from the skin and takes heat with it, providing immediate but short-lived relief. The second is menthol, which does not lower skin temperature but stimulates cold receptors. Hence, the sensation of coolness persists long after the gel has dried. A practical consequence is that this preparation does not need to be applied thickly; a thin layer well massaged in will work more effectively than a thick layer left on the skin. Alcohol in the composition also has a downside: it can dry out, so for sensitive or very dry skin, a variant with a gentler base would be better. Do not apply the gel to abrasions, scratches, or irritated skin. With alcohol and menthol, it will simply be painful. The rest of the list consists of things one can expect from a gel: glycerin and carbomer in the base, three preservatives, and dye CI 42051 - all listed by the manufacturer by name.

How to use
Palacio describes the use of its massage gels in one sentence - rub the appropriate amount into the skin:
- Take a small amount of gel and spread it in a thin layer
- Massage the chosen area until the preparation is absorbed
- If necessary, repeat the application after some time
- Do not apply to damaged, irritated skin or around the eyes
- Wash your hands after the massage
The cooling variant is most often chosen after exertion, in the evening, or in the heat - when warmth is the last thing one wants. It is worth remembering that menthol can surprise with its intensity on thin skin, for example, on the inner side of the arms, so it is better to make the first application on a small area and check your own reaction.
For whom
This is a proposal for those who like a distinct coolness and want it in the form of a gel, not oil: after running, after a day on your feet, after a long drive. The gel-like consistency and alcohol in the composition make the preparation dry quickly and do not leave a greasy residue, which is important if you are going back to your clothes right after the massage or going to bed. The hemp part of the composition consists of three separate items listed by the manufacturer by name: hemp seed oil, seed extract, and cannabidiol. However, it is not a product for children under 3 years of age, for irritated and dry skin, or for those who do not tolerate menthol well. If you are looking for warmth instead, the same line has a warming variant built on pepper extract, and that is what you should choose then - the herbal recipe is the same in both variants, so you only change the sensation on the skin, not the entire composition.
Frequently asked questions
How long does the cooling effect last?
The composition suggests that there are two different times at once: part of the sensation disappears with the evaporation of denatured alcohol, and part lasts longer due to menthol, which stimulates cold receptors. In practice, it depends on the thickness of the layer, the application site, and the ambient temperature - a thin, well-massaged layer gives a clearer and more even sensation than a thick one.
How to read the order of ingredients in this list?
Alphabetically. The list published for the cooling variant is arranged by letters, not in descending order by content - this is an acceptable way of presentation, so the place of cannabidiol or hemp oil on the list is information about the alphabet. It is worth remembering this, as with the Fortis and Calidum variants, the same manufacturer arranges the list according to the proportion of ingredients, and there the order is read differently.
Can the gel be used on the face?
It is not intended for that. This is a body massage preparation, and it contains menthol, camphor, and denatured alcohol - a combination that will simply be unpleasant around the eyes and on the thin skin of the face. The manufacturer explicitly indicates to avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
How does it differ from the variant with soy ferment?
The herbal and hemp base is common, but in this cooling variant, the cooling is additionally supported by peppermint oil and denatured alcohol, while in the version with soy ferment, there is a fermented soy extract, described by the brand as a plant source of collagen. It also differs in color and scent.
