The PAX adapter and DynaVap’s silicone Bonger cost 15 dollars each (October 2026). Storz & Bickel does not have an adapter on the parts list for Mighty.

Arizer describes using a bubbler in several steps. You fill the tube and heat the device. Then you turn it upside down, insert the tube into the 14 mm joint, and inhale. For Mighty and Crafty, adapters are made by third parties: glass with 14 or 18 mm joints and silicone without a screen. Reviews include a warning that a tightly screwed glass adapter may damage the device.

And X-Max? On the websites of the manufacturer X-Max, Topgreen, we did not find a water adapter for V3 PRO. Sellers offer an adapter for a bong and bubbler for it, and the description of the screen in the u Bucha store mentions both parts. One reviewer recommends this set for V3 PRO because the short vapor path supposedly gives hot vapor at high temperatures. This is an opinion from a review. The magnetic glass mouthpiece for V4 Pro is described by sellers as an adapter for the joint, but they provide different sizes (14 or 14.5 and 18.8 mm).

Does water change vapor from the vaporizer and what do studies say?

We did not find a study that checks what a bubbler does to vapor from a modern vaporizer. The only laboratory data about water comes from Gieringer’s study for MAPS from 1996, improved in 2000. This study mainly measured smoke; the only vaporizer in it was a homemade one, whose results the author himself calls misleading. Therefore, cooler and smoother vapor from the adapter is a description from manufacturers, without measurement.

What did Gieringer find? He compared smoke from three water pipes with smoke from joints. The best water pipe produced 30% more tar substances per unit of cannabinoids than a joint without a filter. The author suspects that water absorbs THC more easily than tar. The gaseous phase was not studied. The herb from the American NIDA institute had about 2.3% THC.

The study also included one homemade vaporizer with a heat gun, from which vapor was drawn through water. The author suspects that it would perform better without water. The results for vaporizers he himself calls misleading. He also adds that it is too early to consider water pipes unhealthy.

What should not be concluded from this? These results pertain to smoke from combustion and a homemade device from 30 years ago. We do not transfer them to vapor from today’s vaporizers, neither positively nor negatively. We also did not find data on whether water in a bubbler retains some cannabinoids from vapor. For now, a water adapter is a matter of convenience and experience, not a filter with measured effects.

What are the screens for vaporizers and when should they be replaced?

A screen traps small herb particles in the chamber or mouthpiece. Storz & Bickel has a simple rule: a clogged screen must be replaced (Venty and Veazy instructions). The manufacturer does not provide a fixed replacement timeframe. A set of 6 standard screens with a diameter of about 15 mm costs 5.90 euros on their website. Types of S&B screens:

S&B instructs to clean screens with a brush after each use. The upper screen must lie flat in the groove, otherwise particles could be inhaled. On the S&B parts list, fine screens are only available in 30 mm size, for Volcano and Plenty.

Other manufacturers also do not provide timelines. PAX has a 3D screen for the chamber of PAX 2, 3, Mini, Mini 2, Plus, and Four models. You remove it with the Multi-Tool or push it out with a brush through the vapor path, and clean it every few chamber fills. Arizer boxes include 4 steel screens. For X-Max V3 PRO, the supplier advises replacement when the screen is dirty, deformed, or airflow weakens. These are the words of the supplier, not the manufacturer of X-Max.

For Fenix, the supplier sells a set: a steel screen with a dense mesh and a green rubber seal with a diameter of 2 cm. The material of the mouthpiece is provided by only some manufacturers. Topgreen makes the X-Max V3 Pro mouthpiece from PC and ABS materials, and the V4 Pro mouthpiece from glass and ABS. Storz & Bickel sells 4 mouthpieces for Mighty+ and Crafty+ for 10.40 euros, but does not specify the material. We did not find a study comparing the flavor or safety of glass and plastic mouthpieces.

How to clean the vaporizer and its accessories?

For cleaning, Storz & Bickel sells brushes (3 pieces for 5.20 euros) and chamber tools (5 pieces for 8.10 euros). Removable parts should be washed according to S&B in warm water for at least 5 minutes or in isopropyl alcohol for no more than 30 minutes, as longer soaking makes plastic brittle. S&B prohibits submerging the device itself.

S&B also sells consumable parts in sets. The Wear & Tear kit for Mighty+ costs 31.50 euros, and the cooling unit alone costs 18.90 euros. The set for Venty includes 3 mouthpieces, a cooling unit, a set of screens, 2 tools, and a brush. Volcano Hybrid has its own set for 10.40 euros. In our opinion, it is worth having parts that manufacturers recommend replacing first, namely spare screens and a brush. Storz & Bickel states that a clogged screen must be replaced, and 6 standard screens cost 5.90 euros. Capsules and a water adapter are convenience, not necessity. The order below is based on the manufacturers’ instructions and what they do not provide.

1. Spare screens and a brush. These are consumable parts: S&B instructs to replace a clogged screen, and you clean screens with a brush after each use.
2. Spare mouthpiece, if yours is glass or easily lost. The replacement for Fenix comes with a screen and seal.
3. Capsules, if you prepare portions in advance, for example for a trip. The S&B capsule is single-use, so with 40 pieces for 15.60 euros, one portion costs about 0.39 euros.
4. Water adapter last. Manufacturers promise cooler vapor, and we did not find studies on vapor passed through water.

Before purchasing, check the exact model. Parts for X-Max and Fenix often have confirmed compatibility only with one version. The glass mouthpiece and standard screen for X-Max are confirmed by the supplier only for V3 PRO. The supplier does not confirm 420VAPE capsules for Fenix Mini+. Does the part fit your device?
