How to prepare yerba mate?

1. Pour about 15 g of yerba mate into the vessel. If you are concerned about too intense a flavor, you can reduce the portion.

2. Cover the opening of the vessel with your hand, turn it upside down, and shake it several times. This way, you will get rid of dust and the smallest pieces of leaves and twigs that could clog the bombilla.

3. Turn the matero upright, then slightly tilt it to create a “hill” of the dried leaves on one side. Place the bombilla in the area where there is the least amount of leaves. From this moment on, try not to move the bombilla.

4. Pour hot water (at a temperature not exceeding 80°C) over the dried leaves and… enjoy the taste of yerba mate! You can keep adding water until the brew loses its characteristic flavor.

Yaguar Frutas del Huerto also works perfectly as tereré - cold yerba mate! ❄️ To prepare a refreshing drink, pour a little more dried leaves than usual (about 20-25 g), pour in ice-cold water, and for extra refreshment, add a few ice cubes.
