The 91 in the name refers to the numbered selection of the chemdawg family, separated by American breeders into distinct lines. The second parent, captain krypt og, originates from the og family. Both entries come from breeding catalogs and from the description of the entity that commercialized this genetics, rather than from genetic testing, so they speak to the breeder's declaration, not the confirmed identity of the plant. For some entries in this compilation, such a declaration is completely absent, and in those cases, we refer to an unknown pedigree; here it is different.

The trade name does not prove kinship in any direction. This is evident in Electric Honeydew, where the pedigree lists 91 og krypt melon: the shared word does not make it a sibling of this strain, as it comes from a different catalog and describes a different entry. Conversely, it can also happen that two entries without a single common word in the name have the same documented parent.

The classification itself can be recorded inconsistently: one database describes Krypton as an indica, another as a hybrid. There is no resolution, as neither provides the basis for that assignment.

Which producers supply this strain to Polish pharmacies?

One. Krypton is supplied exclusively by Canopy Growth, a Canadian manufacturer selling medical raw material under the Spectrum Therapeutics brand. However, in Polish listings, this name appears in two separate entries conducted under the same registration name, and it is these, not two manufacturers, that create the impression of two pharmacy versions.

The registration name combines the term Cannabis flos with the manufacturer's name and declared content. We omit the numerical part of this name, as it is a value declared by the manufacturer, and in this entry, no available source provides the deviation that is allowed. Quoting it without this caveat would make it appear as the result of testing a specific batch, which it is not.

Both rows indicate the same entity and the same registration name, so from the prescription perspective, it is one entry. The databases maintain them separately and assign them different descriptions. This is the state of records in the sources, not the established identity of two strains: this cannot be resolved without a certificate of analysis for a specific batch, which none of the databases publish.

What can actually be purchased changes faster than the names themselves. How does this strain smell and taste?

Depending on which entry is read. One source describes the aroma as floral with a hint of pepper, another as diesel, musky, and earthy. The common denominator of both descriptions is myrcene, a terpene associated with the scent of damp earth and overripe fruit. The taste follows the aroma and is often described similarly.

Sources differ in the composition of the profile. One lists five terpenes for this name: myrcene, caryophyllene, limonene, linalool, and humulene. The other only lists myrcene as the leading position and ends the description there. Thus, four names stand exclusively in one entry and cannot be confirmed, and in the second entry of the same registration name, the list can be even shorter.

We do not provide percentage shares for these names, as it is unclear what they are calculated against. For the same entries, the summed values from Polish databases sometimes do not even reach half, while at other times exceed four-fifths; in one of the entries for Krypton, the total exceeds one hundred. A number without a known denominator reads in the text about anxiety like a measurement result, which it is not.

How long does it take for the strain to take effect and how long does the effect last?

There is no separate answer for Krypton. The duration is determined by the method of administration, not the name on the label: after vaporization, it counts in minutes, after ingestion, it takes tens of minutes. For this cultivar, no one has measured the curve separately, so the ranges below refer to the method of intake, not the cultivar.

The route of administration determines the course more than the variety itself. After vaporization, the substance passes from the lungs to the blood almost immediately, so the first sensations appear after a few minutes, the intensity increases for another ten to thirty minutes, and the whole effect lasts for two to four hours. After ingestion, the raw material first passes through the intestine and liver, so the first sensations are awaited from half an hour to two hours, and the episode can last six, sometimes eight hours. Hence the most common mistake with oral administration: anyone who thinks nothing is happening after thirty minutes and takes another dose will receive both doses at once. The above ranges describe the route of administration, not this variety; pharmacokinetic studies for a single cultivar have not been published.

The pedigree or terpene profile does not change anything here. None of the available sources provide a measurement of the duration of action for this name, and the two records kept under it differ in description, not physiology. What matters is the form in which the material comes from the pharmacy, and whether the patient vaporizes it or prepares an oral preparation.

What is known, and what is not known about the effects of this strain?

For Krypton itself, nothing is known beyond what the commercial descriptions provide. There is no clinical study conducted on this strain. However, there are several studies on the terpene, which places this profile at the forefront, and they set the boundary for what can be said here.

In 2002, a team from Vale announced in the journal Phytomedicine (PMID:12587690) results from a mouse model. Myrcene administered intraperitoneally (100-200 mg/kg) reduced the locomotor activity of mice in the open field test, prolonged sleep induced by pentobarbital (by about 2.6 times at 200 mg/kg), and decreased the number of entries into the open arms of the elevated plus maze, which the authors described as a weak anxiogenic effect, not anxiolytic.

Twelve years earlier, Rao and colleagues reported in the Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology (PMID:1983154) an observation from a different set of tests. Myrcene (10-40 mg/kg) reduced pain responses in mice in hot plate and writhing tests induced by acetic acid; the effect was reversed by naloxone and yohimbine, indicating the involvement of alpha2-adrenergic receptors and the release of endogenous opioids.

In humans, myrcene alone has not been shown to alleviate insomnia at doses typical for inhalation of dried flower. The direction of the effect in rodents depends on the route of administration and sex: intraperitoneal injection in 2002 described a slightly anxiogenic effect, while inhalation in 2024 showed an anxiolytic effect in females. These two results do not negate each other; they simply show that the conclusion depends on conditions that no popular strain database provides.

The rest of what can be read about this strain is a sales description or a patient report. The term "relaxing," which both bases assign to both entries, comes from their own descriptive category, not from measurement or study. What is known about myrcene itself is expanded in a separate article.

What side effects have been reported for this strain?

None. The strain name is not a unit for which reports are collected, and with this entry, there is one more thing: two records from the databases go under a common registration name, so even if someone reported a symptom, they would have no way to attribute it to one of them. Therefore, below is a description for the entire group of materials.

Reports of adverse effects are collected for medicinal products with a batch number, not for the strain name, so the following pertains to hemp dried flower as a group of raw materials. The most frequently reported symptoms are dry mouth, red eyes, and increased heart rate. Dizziness upon rapid standing, daytime drowsiness, and temporary worsening of short-term memory are less frequently described, as well as anxiety that increases with dosage. A separate issue is medications taken concurrently, especially sedatives and those affecting coagulation: their assessment requires knowledge of the entire list of preparations, not just the description of the plant. We do not provide the frequency of these symptoms numerically, as public compilations for hemp dried flower in Poland do not separate them by individual products.

Additionally, there is the method of dispensing. The material is a category Rpw medicine, and the decision regarding its use and combination with other preparations is made by the attending physician. A symptom that appears after changing the strain may be the result of a different dose or method of intake, not the plant itself.

How to vaporize this strain?

Just like any other dried flower, because the setting pertains to the device, not the strain. The terpenes in the Krypton profile have different boiling points and do not evaporate all at once: myrcene boils the lowest of the five, and there is no atmospheric measurement for humulene at all. No source provides a recommended setting for this name.

Inhalation is the only route for which myrcene has been studied in a way somewhat similar to inhaling vapor from dried flower. Wagner and colleagues described a simple model of such administration in 2024 in NeuroSci (PMID:39728677). With short puffs mimicking inhalation in humans, beta-myrcene exhibited anxiolytic effects in the elevated plus maze in female mice, and in males only with a single puff. Unlike linalool, myrcene did not produce a synergistic effect with cannabidiol in either sex. The study on mice does not yield any number translatable to humans.

The boiling point is not a threshold below which the terpene does not evaporate, and the number set on the device is not the temperature of the dried flower in the chamber. We describe both matters separately, as they apply to each strain in the same way: the evaporation of terpenes and the difference between the setting and the material. Comparing both records of this name is not possible, as analysis certificates breaking down into terpene bases are not published.

Which strains are related to it?

None of those that are currently available in Polish pharmacies. The pedigree chart in this comparison does not link Krypton to another entry: both of its parents appear only once, and the chemdawg 91 line is not the same entry as chemdawg itself, despite the common term.

Two strains from the comparison have chemdawg in their lineage without a number: GMO and Tilray Sirius. This is the name of the entire family, not an identified single selection, so a common parent of this kind does not create siblings. If counted this way, half of the American hybrids would be siblings, and such information would carry no weight.

A separate trap is Electric Honeydew, in which the pedigree states 91 og krypt melon. The common part of the name is not proof: it is an entry from another catalog, and no one has shown that it describes the same plant.
